WHY DOCTORS CALL IT A PRACTICE
Prescription: Cheerios ... and the purple pill.
OK, so I should be happy "doctor reamer" didn't find anything serious causing my mysterious, nauseating condition.
After being poked and prodded from both ends, I anticipated a debilitating diagnosis. His professional wise-guy opinion on the cause ... "I don't know."
BUT, for the gastritis and diverticulosis, eat more fiber, walk around the block every day and stay stress-free.
I could have gotten that information, without being put through the trauma of bowel cleansing, off the Internet.
Where's Dr. House when you need him?

I am glad Dr. Diagnosis gave you a great Prognosis. Dr. House would of put you through more, but you would of had a diagnosis. The purple pill works great.
Is that your bird?

Bird is a wise old owl. I shot this picture at a birds of prey show. I figured it went with the wise-guy doctor comment, as I did with the goose for "doctor reamer" in the previous blog.
maybe a mockingbird would've been better.. or a dodo bird...
re: your newspaper article today..congrats on the blog ratings...love all your articles and blogs..I have commented many times (using different "noms des plumes")..maybe you can guess which were mine..
Used to find lots of little owl packets at the old house! They don't seem to have any digestive problems at all! Then again all they have to worry about is finding food, shelter and a mate to help raise the little ones. More meat in your diet?
Glad you got the all clear!
The apprehension of not knowing and the prep can be quite unsettling.
Have hubby spring for a fancy dinner now.
Continued good health!
Hi Diana,
What is the purple pill? Glad nothing was found, altho it's very annoying to have all these tests & have no answers, it's a lot better than hearing bad news. Hope you feel better now & continue to write your weekly column in good health, I really look forward to it.
Dee
purple pill is Nexium for acid reflux and gastritis.
Maybe you should give up the stress of being in the newspaper biz.... ;)
I never go to doctors unless I can't walk or it's required, for a physical. (Mom's a nurse, I was a first responder, so I learn to take care of myself and make the "go-no go" decision.) Last time I went to the doctor was because I had some sort of itch or rash (forget what) - thought I was allergic to one of the pets. His diagnosis? He didn't know what was wrong either.
And then they had trouble billing my insurance and threatened to take me to court, but that's another subject.
Less Stress-so easy to say but all so true-nerves do almost all the damage to our bodies-they control all our organs, etc.
Solution-GOOD Question???
Diana,
