NO EMBRYOS FOR YOU!

A British woman left infertile after having been treated for ovarian cancer has no right to any of her fertilized eggs frozen before her ovaries were removed.

Her former fiance who provided the sperm for the 2001 in vitro fertilization has changed his mind about having a child with with woman and refused to continue with the process. British law stipulates consent is needed from both parents throughout every stage.

The embryos now will be destroyed, along with the woman's hopes of ever becoming a mother.

And, we wonder why some women want to run over their boyfriends with their cars.

as heartless as it sounds, men have rights, too...takes two to tango (and fertilize eggs)..I say: adopt...if he doesn't want his DNA running around, he has that right, too..

So much for equal rights in other countries-American women who complain about everything in the USA should take note

I don't believe in the fertilization stuff but that is not the point here

sofia, it IS equal rights in other countries, they take BOTH male/female intentions/consent into account...in US a woman can get an abortion w/o her partner's consent (the father) so why can't a man bar fertilization of a woman's egg..is really same thing..what's good for the goose is good for the gander...unfortunately, it is the gosling who suffers in the end..

I think it's the promises that go along with this that are no longer acknowledged that makes it a shame. That poor woman was counting on some a-hole to help her have a baby. It was her last shot, and he wasted her eggs. Probably out of spite. Jerk.
