HOLY JITTERS, BATMAN!

Save that Krispy Kreme!

It seems a Durham, North Carolina, molecular scientist has developed a way to add caffeine to doughnuts and baked goods without the bitter taste.

Each piece of pastry is the equivalent of about two cups of coffee.

Sugar, carbs and now caffeine? Real heart-smart, Dr. Robert Bohannon.

Thanks for another way to make life a little more tense.

OK, most people have a donut with coffee. Do you really need another two cups of coffee IN your donut? Lets see, a 20oz coffee (really about 4 cups of coffee) and a caffeine donut (equal to 2 cups of coffee). That makes 6 cups of coffee at one time! I hope these donuts come with a warning that your heart might explode if consumed with coffee! What is next caffeine injections?

Just fyi, Krispy Kreme, Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks are all being pursued to offer these caffeine- laden pastries, but they are not on the market yet

Hopefully, local police who frequent these donut places are off duty..with a couple cups of joe and a donut (or two)al, their trigger fingers may be a bit jittery..same applies to surgeons...also, Dunkin Donuts munchkins laden with caffeine..there's a great new kid-friendly idea! I guess they could offer decaf donuts, too!

Sooooooooooo, we go from one stop shopping to one step eating! Just have a donut and you don't have to tip your wrist with a cup of coffee-good for the lazy energy saving members of our society!

Dear Diana,

We all mourn Art Buchwald's passing and would like to bring your attention to The Remembering Site, a non-profit organization that makes it easy for anyone, anywhere to write their life stories. Art Buchwald recently published a great memoir, To Soon To Say Goodbye. Grateful if you could profile us to encourage your readers to write their biography/memoir at The Remembering Site.

We will all die; but will we take the time to write our life stories?

Sincerely,
Dr. Sarah McCue

Just does not sound as a fulfilling way to get one's daily
caffeine fix.
Nothing like a nice steamy hot cup of java in the morn' to get ones' heart going. I somtimes wash down my cardiac meds with a hot cup of joe.
I'll skip the donuts unless,
they can take out the transfat,I'll let them add the caffeine.Fair trade off?
