HEAD BANGING TIME
It was off balance.
The delivery man didn't set the legs right on our new refrigerator to keep it level.
I didn't find out until he left and I was putting condiments on the door. When I turned around to get jars and bottles, the door swung open and hit the side of the unit.
Now, I have a crease in the front of the door.
Like looking down flights of stairs, I was dizzy with rage.
Who's at fault? Should I call Lowe's and demand a new door? Or should I suck it up and put a magnet over the crease?
Maybe the magnet should read "Scratch and dent sale."

If you paid for installation you should call them and get a new door.
Call Lowes and have them replace it. Its not your fault!
Write a column this week (or forward a copy of this blog) and mail it to Lowes' store manager. The negative publicity will have them scurrying to your doorstep with a replacement. Hey, you may as well use your "power of the press". While you are it, do the same for your clock manufacturer.
Their advertising hook is:"Let's build something together". That would let one to assume this means a positive relationship with the customer as well.
Call Lowe's.
They will make good.
It's clearly their fault. They are usually quite fair at rectifying problems like this. In fact, while you're at it, you should ask them to be compensated for your mental pain and suffering. Maybe they'll replace that ugly fixture in the stairway too.
You'll have to take up the ugly fixture issue with Shadowbrook in Shrewsbury.
Diana,
Lowe's goes out of their way to make sure that you are happy. Call them and complain. It is a problem that you can live with, but they may give you a gift card to keep you as a customer.
