HOSED!

I hate hoses.

I hate them more than I hate going to the dentist.

Can someone please invent an easy-to-use hose?

All I do is tug, pull, and walk back and forth, trying to straighten out the kinks to get water to my plants and bushes.

Forget about the grass that has turned into a sandy bed of weeds.

Forget trying to wind up the hoses without causing a rotator cuff injury.

I'd forget it all if I didn't feel guilty watching my thirsty plants wilt.

yes! buy a better hose. I don't like the coils but buy a more sturdy hose and it won't kink. I should know since everyone who really knows me says I'm "all nose and hose."

We solved our hose problems by throwing away our hoses and getting an automatic sprinkler system. Now if there's a problem we just make a simple telephone call -- which is answered by some Pakistani who can barely speak English.

Fighting with the hose is a tradition that we all have to deal with unless we pave everything-even with the sprinkler system, we even have one that speaks English!

Don't hose after wine

I gave up playing in the dirt because it takes to much effort to keep the plants alive. I refuse to pot or plant anything that can't live 3 weeks or more without water! I solved my problem of wanting greenery without the fuss by putting in a small pond with aquatic plants complete with goldfish and mosquito fish under my home office window. I also installed a bird feeder 10 feet away as well (we won't talk about those pesky squirrels as I drumbeat on the window to chase them away). This makes a great view, and no hoses are needed unless there is a drought and the pond starts to evaporate. Another good point is that when you want to play with your plants outside, the water keeps you cool. :)

I also have a Goldie pond, and I love it. Only problem is, when it comes time for a big water change I have drag out one of those darned hoses. :(

I'm with you, Diana. Hoses are for the birds, but the Goldie pond sure is nice! ;)
