Say, what?

A CYNICAL LOOK AT THE DAILY GRIND

HELLO?

Life use to be so simple.

The word outsourcing didn't exist, and communicating with each other usually meant face to face.

Now, if you have a computer or Internet problem, you're transferred to some foreign country (where you can't understand a word the person who is supposed to help you says) to try and get satisfaction.

A friend recently got a $1,000 bill from AT&T for her Internet access. It seems
someone in India didn't know that the dial-up number they gave her was long distance.

Finding resolve to date has been futile.

Where is the push 1 button for English?

wait till they require spanish for everything because of all the illegals' "rights"...what's next, having english/spanish hurricane names..alberto #1 was in spanish , so by all rights it should be alberto/albert on all the tv graphics! wait..how about a spanish sign lang. interpreter, next to the english signer? stop the insanity! Americans must learn how to communicate in public in English, anything else, save for your home, family/ heritage clubs where you can continue your culture's language - with each other!

Computer language is hard enough to understand let alone having to interpret an accent! Try being “hearing impaired” as well, and asking them to speak clearly! HA! Maybe Bill Gates should have an interpreter built into Microsoft programs so we, those of us not current in “computerese”, can understand those accents! It’s wonderful if a person is fluent in a few languages, but most of us only know one basic language and MAYBE a smattering of a second. How about faking a really bad accent to the outsourced person, and tell him/her to please speak verrrryyyy slowlllly as you cannot understand English verrry welllll. Perhaps they will pass you to someone who can interpret us!

I call my computer The Dell from Hell. When I had a problem with it last Nov. I called Dell SEVERAL times. I asked what country the speaker came from. I could not understand them and they could not understand me. Then I was charged for "stuff" I did not want.and could not get it off my account. I even wrote letters.
I then found out that Dell will outsource 5000 jobs to India. What is wrong with the computer literate people in the US. who speak English as a first language and can work for Dell?
Outsourcing, in my opinion, is a big a problem as illegal immigration.

My husband just told me that a virus protection company sent a virus to his computer that causes an ad for their virus software to pop up everytime he goes on line. What kind of advertising is that! Now he has to go through all these steps to remove get rid of it. Atleast he doesn't have to call India.
