A CYNICAL LOOK AT THE DAILY GRIND

BOXED SET

It was big, big and bigger ... and then some.

In an effort to establish where I would be grocery shopping after moving into our new home, I joined Costco Wholesalers.

I joined before I had a chance to check out what the store really had to offer, which meant I didn't have any idea what I was getting into.

What I found was that this store was not the place to shop for two people without a large freezer. I bought a few things anyway including this garbage can-size box of mini-wheat cereal for my daily dose of fiber.

I should be regular for months.

DIANA, MY NEIGHBOR BELONGS TO COSTCO AND SOMETIMES I GO THERE WITH HER TO CHECK THINGS OUT. YESTERDAY WAS THAT DAY! I BOUGHT A HUGE WATERMELON (WHICH WAS DELICIOUS AND WE'LL BE EATING FOR 2 WEEKS), A COOKED CHICKEN (ALSO DELICIOUS) AND A GINORMOUS BOX OF FIBER ONE BARS (HOW'S THAT FOR FIBER). NOT WORTH THE MEMBERSHIP, BUT NOW AND THEN, IT'S GREAT TO VISIT, ESP. ON SOMEONE ELSE'S DIME.

BY THE WAY, MY NEIGHBOR DIDN'T BUY A THING!

if you have a freezer, buying meat in bulk is a good deal. And, if you're having a party and feeding a lot of people, then I'd say it is worth it.

How do you split a membership when your photo is on the membership card? You'd have to look alike - or do they not even look at the picture?

When you split a membership, you each get your own card with your own picture on it. I did it with a friend for years, and now I split the membership with my daughter.

We go to Costco and buy all these bargains, and then wind up throwing out half of what we bought.

When I go to Sam's or Costcos I am afraid that we will eventually have a power outage and all the meat and veggies will go bad.
Now we NEEDED a place like Sam's and Costcos years ago when we had a growing family.
