FADE TO BLACK
A man who went on a Madrid television show to profess his love and propose marriage to his estranged girlfriend, only to be rejected, is now a suspect in her murder.
Ricardo Navarro, 30, got down on his knees, crying and offering an engagement ring to his former partner during a popular daytime talk show, Diario de Patricia on the network Antena 3.
The 30-year-old Russian woman, only known as Svetlana, rejected his proposal and was found four days later with her throat cut in the elevator of her Alicante apartment building.
The televised meeting attended by Svetlana was arranged at Navarro's request as a surprise for his ex-girlfriend so he could try to make up with her. She might have thought the surprise was going to be a visit from a Russian relative, a network official said.
Sadly, it sounds like network officials helped Cupid's arrow go a little more than astray.

Haven't we had enough of "set up" television (remember "Jenny Jones"?)
With an estimated 150,000 Eastern European women and girls disappearing into foreign sex slave brothels every year, often due to Mediterranean mafia guys, you'd think that the image of the Med guy as the Perfect Lover, especially for Slavic women, would've died a natural death. From what I've read and seen, slave trafficking is depopulating Eastern Europe of young women entirely; no wonder countries like Russia are dying demographically.
I'm a single WASP guy who'd relish being a special woman's love and support, regardless of what country she came from, but I lose out to hyenas who have dark hair and eyes which, as everybody knows, guarantee that a man will be a kind and loving boyfriend, husband and father. It's f*cking BS that really makes me wonder whether human beings have any sense. From what stupid Spanish-language soap opera did that poor woman get her ideas about what constitutes manhood? Do a Google search for "sex slaves" or "sex slavery", followed by a country name like Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey or Israel and you may be shocked by what you find.
