CHUG-A-LUG

A recovering alcoholic was charged with retail theft after he downed seven bottles of Jack Daniels Lynchburg Lemonade in the liquor aisle of a Mukwonago, Wis., Wal-Mart super center.

The 43-year-old man, who police did not identify, said he had been dry for 16 months before he went into the store and drank the 12-ounce bottles of spiked lemonade in 15 minutes. After consuming the alcohol, he put the empty bottles back on the shelf. A security video caught him in the act.

When confronted by a store official, the man at first denied drinking the alcohol but later confessed that "he couldn't control himself." He added that he didn't know how he was going to tell his wife who was in the store, but wasn't aware of what he was doing.

I feel his pain. Shopping at Wal-Mart is enough to drive anyone to drink.

I worked at a Pathmark Supermarket in New Brunswick back in the 70's.
We had several neighborhood winos who would come in and chug mouth wash for it's alcohol content.Lomg since closed, this store had no more than 7 aisles. It was easy to spot the shoplifters
One wino I caught turned to me to offer me a swig.No thanks fellow, finish your Lavoris and hit the road.Better yet, take it with you.
Odd what those winos will do for their kicks.

I guess it was a two fer..drink the alcohol in it and then have fresh breath after.

My sister lives in Virginia Redneck country and they have Super Walmarts with full grocery stores and used to sell guns and ammo years ago, too. When they moved there from NJ, my nephew said he's never seen more mullets in one palce in his life. My sister says "I'm going to Wall-Fart today"..there's nothing else around them for miles. At least they are a lot nicer now than years ago and prices on lots of stuff is a lot less expensive.

That man should have taken the empty six into the mens room with him...Hence the Lynchburg Lemonade recycling system!
