TO GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE WE GO
Her cousins said no and she has no sisters, so a 27-year-old Brazilian woman got her mother to surrogate her twin boys.
Rosinete Palmeira Serrao, 51, gave birth to her own grandchildren by Cesarean section recently after she received four embryos from her daughter who tried for four years to get pregnant and failed.
Brazilian law stipulates that only close relatives can serve as surrogate mothers.
Officials at Santa Joana Hospital in Recife, Brazil, reported the grandmother and twins were in excellent health and released over the weekend.
So, I guess the boys will be calling her ... Grandma-Ma?
Does anyone else find this just plain wrong?

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. The grandmother was not coerced. She wanted to do this for her daughter. "Live and let live!" Everyone makes different choices for themselves so I don't believe we should judge. What a wonderful gift for her daughter.
There are far more worst "wrongs" in the world that demand our attention. The atrocity of a woman placing a new born in a trash can,the abandoning of one's own children as the mother steps out for the night, leaving them to perish in a fire...
This is a story that appears to have a happy ending.
Who am I to judge this as a wrong thing? A new life was brought into the world for a woman who apparently could not do so on her own.
I SAY BRAVA TO GRANDMA!
I agree with Diana. They're all Brazil nuts! Adopt!
Technically, is grandpa also some type of dad? I'm so confused and I'm not even their kid! Waaaaa!
What a definite right! If my daughter needed my help to have a child, I'd be there for her. I'm glad for this family. What a great bond they have, and the love these little ones will endure will be great!
Bravo indeed
Time for everyone to start minding their own business.
As a grandmother myself I would not choose to do this, however, look at the woman's face for pity sakes! Leave her alone! God bless you, grandma :)
I think the look is drug-induced from the C-section and I'd love to see the look again when she starts lactating. Will grandma breastfeed too? Twins? Yikes!
this woman is nuts, just like proofreader said. it's almost incestuous (sp?).
I'm My Own Grandpa
( Lonzo & Oscar )
It sounds funny, I know,
But it really is so,
Oh, I'm my own grandpa.
I'm my own grandpa.
I'm my own grandpa.
It sounds funny, I know,
But it really is so,
Oh, I'm my own grandpa.
Now many, many years ago, when I was twenty-three,
I was married to a widow who was pretty as could be.
This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red.
My father fell in love with her, and soon they, too, were wed.
This made my dad my son-in-law and changed my very life,
My daughter was my mother, cause she was my father's wife.
To complicate the matter, even though it brought me joy,
I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy.
My little baby then became a brother-in-law to Dad,
And so became my uncle, though it made me very sad.
For if he was my uncle, then that also made him brother
Of the widow's grown-up daughter, who, of course, was my stepmother.
Father's wife then had a son who kept him on the run,
And he became my grandchild, for he was my daughter's son.
My wife is now my mother's mother, and it makes me blue,
Because, although she is my wife, she's my grandmother, too.
Now if my wife is my grandmother, then I'm her grandchild,
And everytime I think of it, it nearly drives me wild,
For now I have become the strangest case you ever saw
As husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa!
I'm my own grandpa.
I'm my own grandpa.
It sounds funny, I know, but it really is so,
Oh, I'm my own grandpa.
Just because you can..doesn't mean you should. Words of wisdom from my parents (a regular biological Mom and Dad, that is), rings true.
